Launched in 2016, the RNA Salon program provides financial support for recurring local/regional RNA science-based activities held at academic institutions throughout the world. With the aim of promoting engagement and interaction among RNA scientists, the RNA SOCIETY hopes to advance the training and professional development of RNA researchers, with a particular focus on junior trainees.
In 2024/2025, the RNA Salon program supports 65 RNA Salons that offer diverse formats of programming including in-person, hybrid, and online events. There are now RNA Salons in North America, Europe, South America, Australia, Asia and Africa.
A complete list of all current RNA Salons and organizers can be found here.
A Summary of 2024/2025 RNA Salon activities was presented to the RNA SOCIETY Board in June 2025.
The RNA SOCIETY is now inviting applications for RNA Salons in 2025/2026 with the possibility for outstanding applicants to secure two-year funding. Applications must be submitted by August 31, 2025 using a web-based application form. To learn more about how to qualify for support from the RNA SOCIETY for your RNA-related events, please see the ‘Guidelines for RNA Salon Support 2025’.
We hope that you all have an opportunity to join an RNA Salon event, and to connect with your colleagues and peers who are equally enthusiastic about RNA as you are!
