Dr. Yanzhong Yang laboratory in the Department of Cancer Genetics and Epigenetics at the Beckman Research Institute of City of Hope Cancer Center is looking for 1 - 2 highly motivated postdoctoral fellows to studying transcriptional regulation and RNA metabolism in normal development and human diseases, such as neurological disorder, immunology, and cancer. In particular, the Yang lab utilizes biochemistry, molecular biology, CRISPR-based genomic screen, single-cell transcriptomics, and genetically modified mouse models to investigate the role of protein arginine methylation in the regulation of chromatin biology, RNA splicing, and RNA modification in mammalian cells.

The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in biochemistry, molecular biology and cell biology. Skills in common RNA biology, epigenetics, and mouse models are preferred. The candidate should be self-motivated, with a proven track record of productivity.

Basic education, experience and skills required for consideration:

  • PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular and Cellular Biology, or related area.
  • Strong interest in basic and translational research. Strong work ethic, meticulous and detail-oriented record keeping habits.
  • Evidence of productivity reflected in first author publications in peer-reviewed journals. Ability to conduct independent research, and work effectively in a team.

Preferred experience and skills:
