RNA biology is fundamental to how cells develop, function and respond to their environment. Its reach spans diverse research fields, from infection and immunity to neurobiology, cancer and therapeutic innovation.
The Dutch RNA Club brings together researchers across this broad scientific landscape, connecting universities, medical centres and research institutes throughout the Netherlands. United by a shared interest in RNA, our community brings together expertise across disciplines, model systems and methods.
Meetings and activities.
We organize activities throughout the year, combining a national Annual Symposium with smaller half-day RNA Club meetings and online workshops.
The Annual Symposium brings together the Dutch RNA community for a full day of scientific exchange and networking, with invited from across the Netherlands as well as poster presentations.. The half-day meetings are hosted at different participating institutes and provide an informal setting for PhD students and postdocs to present their work, discuss ongoing research and exchange expertise. Online workshops complement these meetings by focusing on specific experimental or computational methods in RNA research.
Our next Annual Symposium will take place on 13 November 2026 at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Visit the Dutch RNA Club Symposium 2026 website for the program, registration and further information Dutch RNA Club. A half-day RNA Club meeting is planned at Radboud University in Nijmegen in May 2027, and an online RNA workshop is planned for February 2027.
Our goal
Our goal is to connect the Dutch RNA research community and make it easier for researchers to learn from one another and collaborate. By bringing people together around RNA biology, we create opportunities to share knowledge, methods and expertise beyond the boundaries of individual research fields and institutes.
Supporting junior researchers is central to this mission. Through our annual symposium and other activities, PhD students and postdocs can present their work, engage with researchers outside their immediate field and build their scientific networks.
By connecting established expertise with emerging talent, we aim to strengthen a visible, inclusive and active RNA research community in the Netherlands.
