RNA 2026 Pre-Meeting Workshop
Hosted by Oxford Nanopore Technologies
Tuesday, May 26th from 1:30 pm – 4:30 pm
“The Long View: Long-Read RNA Sequencing, Tools, and Live Demonstration”
Long-read sequencing technologies are transforming RNA biology by enabling full-length transcript characterization, isoform resolution, and direct RNA analysis without amplification.
This pre-meeting professional development workshop will introduce long-read approaches for both direct RNA and cDNA sequencing using the Oxford Nanopore platform, highlighting key advantages for transcriptomics and RNA modification studies.
The session will:
- Introduce approaches for both direct RNA and cDNA sequencing using the Oxford Nanopore platform
- Highlight key advantages of long-read sequencing for transcriptomic and RNA modification studies
- Include a hands-on flow cell loading demonstration
- Feature a keynote scientific presentation
- Provide a data analysis module for ONT cDNA and native RNA sequencing data, including:
- Data quality control (QC)
- ONT secondary analysis workflows (EPI2ME platform)
- Interpretation of key outputs
- Introduction to modkit for DNA and RNA base modifications
- Offer practical guidance on third‑party tools for downstream workflows and analyses, including alternative splicing, differential expression, and transcriptome data visualization
