Postdoctoral Research Position – Shipra Agrawal Laboratory at Stony Brook University

Posted on: October 26, 2026

Shipra Agrawal Lab | Division of Nephrology and Hypertension, Department of Medicine, Renaissance School of Medicine, Stony Brook University | Stony Brook, NY, USA

If you are a motivated, dedicated and a hard-working scientist, and interested in studying RNA biology in the context of disease, consider applying to the Shipra Agrawal Laboratory at Stony Brook University in New York for a Postdoctoral Research Position. We investigate RNA-mediated mechanisms, such as roles of miRNA, lncRNA and RNA processing including splicing and polyadenylation, in podocyte biology, glomerular disease and chronic kidney disease.

The project lies at the interface of RNA biology, podocyte biology and glomerular disease, and will combine cellular and molecular approaches with cultured podocytes, kidney organoids, mouse models and human samples.

Work Environment

Our laboratory is part of the Division of Nephrology and Hypertension, Department of Medicine, located on Stony Brook University campus in Long Island, NY. Stony Brook University provides a collaborative environment bringing together fundamental and clinical research, with access to state-of-the-art core facilities in genomics, imaging, flow cytometry, animal experimentation and organoid culture.

The postdoctoral researcher will have the privilege to interact closely with the scientists and trainees in the Division and with the broader nephrology, medicine and RNA biomedical research community, including RNA Island Exchange Salon and meetings at Cold Spring Harbor Labs.

Qualifications

Applicants should have a PhD or equivalent degree in molecular biology, cell biology, or a related discipline. Preference will be given to candidates with a PhD degree focused on RNA biology or kidney disease models.
