Postdoctoral Research Scientist in Immunology/Bioinfomatics. Babraham Institute, Cambridge. Closing date: 7th November 2021. For more information, please visit https://babrahaminstitute.livevacancies.co.uk/#/job/details/242?target=frame

Current work in the Ribeiro de Almeida lab focuses on understanding how antibody diversity is regulated at the RNA level, by a class of RNA remodelling enzymes known as RNA helicases, and the role these mechanisms play in maintaining genome stability in B-lymphocytes.  These studies stem from our discovery on the roles of RNA helicase DDX1 and G-quadruplex (G4) RNA structures in targeting the DNA mutator enzyme AID to the immunoglobulin heavy-chain locus, to initiate Class Switch Recombination (CSR) (Ribeiro de Almeida et al, Mol Cell, 2018).

We search for dedicated and enthusiastic individuals with expertise in immunology, RNA biology, and/or bioinformatics, to investigate the role of RNA helicases in B lymphocyte biology, using novel mouse models recently developed in our lab and state-of-the-art RNA interactome approaches. Any informal enquires about the positions and projects are very welcome by email to  [email protected].
