Position Summary:

We are seeking a passionate, proactive, and detail-oriented Senior Research Associate/Associate scientist to join our team. You will have the unique opportunity to work with a group of passionate scientists and take an active role in building our proprietary technology platform. The position requires technical experience in RNA biology and molecular biology, with a strong emphasis on multitasking, critical thinking, and teamwork. The successful candidate is a scientifically motivated self-starter, able to thrive in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment, and an integral part of a highly collaborative and interdisciplinary team. Excellent communication, record-keeping, and teamwork will be critical.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work with a team of scientists to innovate, optimize and execute RNA design and RNA engineering for a variety of experiments.
• Responsible for RNA production, RNA preparation, and RNA structural characterization.
• Responsible for RNA NGS library preparation and sequencing on Nanopore and Illumina platforms
• Ability to independently troubleshoot experiments, solve challenging problems and optimize existing SOPs.
• Support the RNA workflow at the company.
• Communicate results in written technical reports and oral presentations.

Minimum Qualifications:

• B.S. or M.S. with 2-4+ years of professional laboratory experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, biological sciences, or related field.
• Experience in molecular biology techniques, such as gel electrophoresis, PCR, and qPCR.
• Strong expertise in molecular biology, RNA biology, or next-generation sequencing.
• Experience in RNA biology and RNA techniques, such as in vitro transcription, RNA extraction, and RNA purification.
• A strong self-starter, independent thinker, with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent communication, record-keeping, and teamwork will be critical.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in assay development and optimization of nucleic acid production, purification, and biophysical characterization.
• Familiarity with high-throughput experimental design and analysis is a plus.
• Experience with NGS techniques, library preparation, and data analysis is a plus.
• Experience with RNA design, characterization, and engineering is a plus.
• Experience with plant biology or plant systems is a plus.
