Skilled and Highly Motivated Postdoctoral Researcher

The Buchan lab ( in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology, at the University of Arizona, Tucson, is seeking a skilled and highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join our team. Our lab focuses questions relating to stress granule and P-body function and clearance, proteostasis of ALS-associated RNA-binding proteins such as TDP-43 and FUS, and other general aspects of RNA biology including novel roles of mRNA 3’UTRs.

Minimum Qualifications   
Doctoral degree in a relevant biological field (e.g., Molecular & Cellular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Bioinformatics).  The selected candidate must have a conferred PhD upon hire. 

Preferred Qualifications:            
Experience with S. cerevisiae and/or human cell culture procedures, particularly with iPSC models
Experience with genetic, biochemical, and bioinformatic methods
Experience with microscopy and image analysis
The successful candidate will have a strong scientific record, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, initiative and a strong work ethic.
