Research Associate (RA) - Immunology

We are seeking an exceptional Research Associateto join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience with in vivo studies in mice and working in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will bring excellent technical skills, a willingness to learn additional skills while having the adaptability and flexibility to adjust to a rapid-changing schedule set in order to meet Department Goals in the Company Timeline.

  • Expand Orna’s therapeutic pipeline through evaluation of RNA encapsulated nanoparticle formulations in relevant animal models
  • With study lead, design, optimize, and conduct studies in relevant animal disease models
  • Develop pharmacodynamic readouts to support evaluation of therapeutic efficacy of test articles in animal models
  • Manage technical support services to facilitate study execution including IV, SC and IP injections, obtaining peripheral blood and weighing/monitoring tumor bearing animals
  • Carry out cell and tissue preparation work related to in vivo studies
  • Generate, interpret, and analyze data with a sense of urgency
  • Ability to solve technical problems in a practical and rational manner
  • Maintain an up-to-date and accurate electronic notebook record of performed studies
  • Self-motivated, detail oriented, and able to effectively manage time to coordinate multiple parallel laboratory activities

  • Required:  Bachelor's Degree with 1-3 years of relevant In vivo research experience
  • Previous experience working with animal models required
  • Knowledge in immunology and/or immune oncology and experience with cell culture preferred
  • Understanding of immunology and oncology models to assess efficacy of adoptive cell therapies and experience with in vivo imaging a plus
  • Experience with Studylog, GraphPad Prism and Microsoft Office Suite, preferred
  • Teamwork – Ability to work well in a highly cross-functional team environment
  • Detail oriented with ability to precisely document protocols, procedures, and findings accurately in electronic notebooks a must
  • Communication – ability to communicate clearly and concisely within the team; documents issues and/or concerns concisely with colleagues; prompt and effective communication of issues to supervisor
  • Organization – exercises good time management and prioritization skills and can successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
