Postdoctoral Position in Influenza Virology (Pittsburgh)

Posted on May 12,

A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Nara Lee in the MMG Department at the University of Pittsburgh to study Influenza virus assembly. This project is a collaboration with the lab of Dr. Seema Lakdawala in our department and focuses on how RNA-protein and RNA-RNA interactions shape the intracellular virus assembly process to prepare for genome packaging into virions. This project entails the utilization of novel deep sequencing-based techniques developed in our labs. For more information, please see doi: 10.1016/j.celrep.2020.107823 and doi: 10.1093/nar/gkx584.

Applicants are expected to have profound training in molecular biology, with emphasis on RNA-related methodologies, or virology. Previous experience with next-generation sequencing and computational analyses is desirable. Interested candidates are encouraged to send their application including a brief cover letter, CV, and contact information of three referees to [email protected]
