Postdoctoral Position: Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York City

Posted on August 28,

A position is available in the laboratory of Prof. Stewart Shuman (MSKCC) to pursue studies of RNA 3’-processing and transcription termination in fission yeast – in collaboration with the lab of Prof. Beate Schwer (Weill Cornell Medical College).

Topics of acute interest include: (i) lncRNA-mediated transcriptional interference; (ii) structural and functional organization of the cleavage and polyadenylation factor (CPF) complex; (iii) metabolite control of RNA 3’-processing/termination by inositol pyrophosphates; (iv) transcription control of phosphate homeostasis; and (v) the RNA polymerase II CTD code and its impact on Pol2 termination.

Our multi-modal approach to these topics integrates fission yeast genetics, protein and RNA biochemistry, transcription profiling, and structural biology. Candidates for the position will have a PhD or MD/PhD and experience in one or more of these areas.
