Postdoctoral Position: Mechanisms of Nonsense-mediated mRNA Decay National Institutes of Health, NHLBI, Bethesda, MD2023 January 18, POSITION DESCRIPTION The Hogg Lab within the Biochemistry and Biophysics Center (BBC) at the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to explore the biochemistry and cellular functions of the nonsense-mediated mRNA decay (NMD) pathway. We investigate how RNA-protein complexes are built and destroyed at levels spanning from single molecules to whole transcriptomes. This position offers the opportunity for postdoctoral fellows to develop independent research programs with the scientific and career development support of the Hogg laboratory, the BBC, and the resources of the NIH Intramural Research Program. This includes: - A fully funded position for up to 5 years Candidates are encouraged to propose innovative and ambitious research projects that take advantage of the Hogg Lab’s expertise in RNA biology and the resources of the NIH Intramural Program.
