Postdoctoral Fellow in RNA Biology and Genomics

Posted on May 18,

The RNA Biology research unit headed by Dr. Eric Lécuyer at the Montreal Clinical Research Institute (IRCM), located in downtown Montreal, seeks to recruit a motivated postdoctoral fellow to study the biological functions and mechanisms of RNA intracellular localization. Our laboratory is affiliated with two of the most productive research universities in Canada, the Université de Montréal and McGill University. Our team combines diversified methods in cellular and molecular biology, genomics, bioinformatics and fly genetics to define mechanisms of intracellular RNA transport and to understand their dysfunctions in disease contexts. Our multidisciplinary team is well-funded and participates in various collaborative efforts with partners from academia and the private sector, with prospects for start-up company creation. Montreal is a highly multi-cultural, safe, and affordable city, with numerous festivals and green spaces, while the province of Québec offers beneficial tax-breaks for postdoctoral fellows and their families, as well as universal healthcare and subsidized day care.

Available: Immediately, until filled.

Qualifications
Applicants should have completed (or be on the verge of completing) doctoral studies in biology, biochemistry, genetics, genomics, bioinformatics or a related discipline. Candidates should have significant experience with standard molecular/cellular biology and biochemical approaches, with a particular emphasis on in RNA-related experimentation. Moreover, individuals with experience in genomics/transcriptomics approaches and associated bio-informatics/statistical analyses methodologies will be given strong consideration.

How to Apply:
Please send a cover letter and CV (including the names and contact information of three referees) by email to [email protected]. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
