Postdoctoral Associate/Fellow position available

Posted on March 26,

A postdoctoral research position is available in the Strong lab at Robarts Research Institute (Western University, London, Canada) examining the role of exosomal signaling and RNA binding proteins in ALS, CTE and related disorders.  This is a fully funded position for the period of 3 years.  The successful candidate must have a PhD (molecular biology, biochemistry or similar), experience with stereotaxic surgery in rodents, immunohistochemistry, molecular and biochemical techniques and tissue culture.  Experience with confocal microscopy, mass spec and RNASeq are definite assets to the applicant. This position bridges protein biochemistry and molecular biology fields, so experience in both fields is an asset.  The successful applicant will need to possess excellent organization, time management and communication skills as they will be expected to work independently on their own research project, as well as collaborating with other researchers within the lab as the need arises.

Qualified applicants can apply by submitting a cover letter describing training, research interests and background, along with a CV including publications and contact information (including email address) for three references.  Applicants selected for interviews will be notified by email, and interviews will be conducted virtually.

Please submit your full application package to Kathryn Volkening at [email protected] with the subject line “postdoctoral application”.   This position is open until filled.
