Post-Doctoral position developing RNA interference strategies in invasive zebra mussels.

USGS, Columbia Environmental Research Center in Columbia, Missouri is opening a job announcement for a Biologist, GS-0401-11. The announcement is open July 17-31. It is a term position renewable for up to 10 years. The position is in the Molecular Section of the Biochemistry and Physiology Branch at CERC, and will be involved in designing qPCR assays for gene expression in zebra mussels, and developing RNA interference strategies and delivery systems to knock down gene expression in primary cultures of zebra mussel cells, with the ultimate goal of developing species-specific control tools for this invasive species.
