A post-doctoral position is available in the group of Michael Jantsch, studying the interaction of the RNA-editing enzyme ADAR1 with its transport protein tranportin1. This interaction is regulated by RNA-binding and seemingly controls the shuttling behavior of this protein. In a collaborative research grant with the structural biologist Pierre Barraud in Paris, the interaction between transporter and cargo and its regulation via RNA-binding shall be studied.
The work will involve construction of fusion proteins and mutations thereof, binding assays, nuclear import assays, RNA-crosslinking assays, and cell transfection assays
The position is funded for up to 24 months following Austrian Post doctoral salaries of ~67k€ gross annual salary. The position is open immediately.
If interested, please send your application together with a motivation letter and a CV to Michael.Jantsch@nullmeduniwien.ac.at
