A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Colleen McHugh in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of California San Diego. The research for this position will focus on the functions of long non-coding RNAs in gene regulation and cancer progression.
Applicants should have a recent Ph.D. in biochemistry or a related field, and have demonstrated research productivity through primary publications in peer-reviewed journals. Research experience in RNA and/or protein structure and biochemistry is preferred, and human cell culture experience is a plus. The successful applicant will have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills and be highly motivated to work collaboratively with other lab members, including graduate and undergraduate students.
The initial appointment will be for one year. The minimum salary will be $48,000 with adjustments according to experience, based on the standard UC San Diego guidelines.
