Postdoctoral Fellowship in Epigenetics and RNA Biology

Postdoctoral fellowship in epigenetics and RNA biology at the Department of Medical Biosciences and Wallenberg Centre for Molecular Medicine, Umeå University (Sweden)

A funded postdoctoral position (2 years) is available in the Aguilo laboratory ( at Umeå University for a highly talented and motivated candidate willing to address fundamental questions in post-transcriptional regulation of RNA in connection with epigenetic regulation in breast cancer.

Project description

The research group investigates how changes epigenetic changes and aberrant RNA modification contribute to breast cancer progression as well as drug resistance. The successful applicant will combine cellular biology with state-of-the-art molecular biology approaches, including ChIP-seq, RNA-seq, MeRiP-seq, CLIP-seq and other large-scale epigenomic and epitranscriptomic analyses, including single-cell RNA-seq. In addition, 2D and 3D cell culture models, patient samples as well as mouse transgenic models will be used to study the central RNA-based regulatory circuitry in breast tumorigenesis.

The application should include the following:

  • A cover letter (max two A4 pages) with a summary of research interests and accomplishments
  • Curriculum vitae (CV)
  • Copies of relevant degree certificates and PhD thesis
  • Contact information (name, address, telephone and e-mail) for three referees

Your complete application should be sent electronically (PDF format) to Dr. Francesca Aguilo with subject POSTDOC_2018 no later than 30 November, 2019
