Postdoctoral Fellow Position Available, Dept of Biochemistry & Molecular Genetics

This position reports directly to the Assistant Professor Neelanjan Mukherjee in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics and is responsible for designing and executing research projects developed with Dr. Mukherjee. We are part of the RNA Bioscience Initiative, a collection of preeminent labs collectively focused on the major challenges in RNA biology. This position will perform cutting-edge research investigating RNA regulatory dynamics controling human steroidogenesis. This will range from developing novel tools for steroidogenesis (organoids and ex vivo primary human adrenocortical cells) to using established human cell culture models to perform and analyze genome-wide approaches to determine stimulus-induced changes in RBP-RNA interaction (CLIP-seq) and RNA synthesis, processing, degradation, and translation (4sU-seq, ribo-seq)

• Extensive knowledge of the techniques used in molecular biology and biochemistry
• Experience with mammalian cell culture
• Ability to perform basic analysis of high-throughput sequencing data
• Critical thinking and the ability and patience to troubleshoot technical hurdles
• Demonstrated ability to perform independent research and mentor students
• The ability to organize experimental data and communicate it effectively

Start date: Earliest start is Feb 1st
The position is funded for a minimum of 3 years. Postdoctoral fellows will be expected to apply for and acquire funding.

Minimum Requirements:
• PhD in biological sciences or related quantitative sciences
