The NeuroEpigenetics LAB – is offering a full-time postdoctoral position to investigate altered molecular mechanisms in Huntington’s Disease (HD) pathology. The lab (https://biagiolilab.wordpress.com) is located in the ambitious and supportive research environment of the Department CIBIO (https://www.cibio.unitn.it/), within the University of Trento (ITALY). We are part of a young, vibrant scientific community and the department is a cutting-edge and top-ranked academic institute in biomedicine and biotechnology.
We are seeking enthusiastic and highly motivated scientist keen to investigate how wild-type and mutant huntington regulate Linear Alternative Splicing and Back-Splicing processes locally at the HTT gene locus, and more globally at the genome-wide level. We will analyze changes in vivo, in different brain districts of a series of Htt knock-in mouse models, faithfully mimicking the HD mutation, at single-cell level [through FACS-sorted, single-cell sequencing] and in HD human post-mortem brain.
We offer a 2-year position, with a competitive salary. The candidate will conduct cutting-edge research with a strong translational impact on Huntington’s Disease, integrate the molecular biology expertise with genetics and genomics skills and be an active participant in the exciting international Huntington’s Disease research community such as the European Huntington’s Disease Network (EHDN) and the Huntington’s Disease Society of America (HDSA).

Qualifications and Experience
> Ph. D.in Neuroscience/Molecular Biology/Cellular Biology.
> At least 3 publications in peer-review scientific journals.
> Excellent molecular and cellular biology expertise.
> Prior experience with mouse models;
> Background experience in Neurodegenerative and/or Neurological disorders;
> Good understanding of RNA regulation and non-coding RNAs.
