{"id":6455,"date":"2022-02-07T19:24:54","date_gmt":"2022-02-08T02:24:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rnasociety.org\/conferences\/?page_id=6455"},"modified":"2022-03-18T16:53:13","modified_gmt":"2022-03-18T22:53:13","slug":"rna-society-research-presentation-fellowship-program","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.rnasociety.org\/conferences\/rna-2022\/rna-society-research-presentation-fellowship-program\/","title":{"rendered":"RNA Society Research Presentation Fellowship Program"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 style=\"margin-top: 20px;\">RNA Society<br \/>\nResearch Presentation Fellowship Program<\/h1>\n<p>The RNA Society Research Presentation Fellowship Program aims to increase inclusion and participation at our annual meeting and provides meeting registration waivers for researchers\u00a0who would otherwise be unable to attend RNA 2022 due to financial considerations.<\/p>\n<p>RNA Society Research Presentation Fellowships are available to current RNA Society members presenting either an oral or poster presentation at RNA 2022 (as first or senior author). To renew your RNA Society membership or to become a first-time member, click <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rnasociety.org\/become-a-member\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>). Applications will be assessed based on career stage, financial need and expected total meeting costs; the Fellowship Selection Committee may prioritize awards according to geographical location to offset travel-associated expenses and\/or to encourage participation of underrepresented scientists. Please note that submission of an application does not guarantee funding and only one Fellowship will be awarded per research group\/lab.<\/p>\n<p>Applications require:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>a brief Statement of Benefit (250 words or less) describing your career stage and how attending the 2022 RNA Society Annual Meeting will benefit your training and\/or career goals.<\/li>\n<li>your scientific abstract for oral or poster presentation (indicating applicant as first or senior author). Note, abstracts submitted for consideration will not be automatically entered into the conference registration portal &#8211; you will be required to re-submit your abstract at the time of meeting registration in order to be included in the meeting program).<\/li>\n<li>Letter of Recommendation from your current research advisor (for Undergraduate, Graduate Student or Post-doctoral Fellows) addressing the scientific merit of the applicant\u2019s research and justification for financial assistance to attend RNA 2022 (letter must be 1 page or less, on institution letterhead and include the advisor&#8217;s signature).<\/li>\n<li>Abbreviated Curriculum Vitae of the applicant (maximum 2 pages).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Applications for RNA Society Research Presentation Fellowships must be submitted by <strong>February 21<sup>st<\/sup>, 2022<\/strong> in order to be evaluated and awarded prior to the RNA 2022 oral abstract submission deadline of March 4<sup>th<\/sup>, 2022. <u>Successful applicants will be notified by e-mail by March 2<sup>th<\/sup>, 2022<\/u>.
