{"id":2218,"date":"2014-11-24T18:09:38","date_gmt":"2014-11-24T18:09:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rnasociety.org\/conferences\/?page_id=2218"},"modified":"2019-07-22T10:06:02","modified_gmt":"2019-07-22T16:06:02","slug":"travel-fellowships","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.rnasociety.org\/conferences\/rna-2015\/travel-fellowships\/","title":{"rendered":"Travel Fellowships"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Travel Fellowships<\/h1>\n<p>As in past years, the RNA Society has funds available to provide travel fellowships in support of researchers who otherwise would not be able to attend the meeting for financial reasons. This year we have budgeted $40,000 for this purpose, but we are also soliciting additional support from corporate sponsors and your fellow RNA Society members, so more funds may be available later. In most cases the fellowships will be made in the form of reduced or waived registration fees, although it is possible that some contribution toward travel costs could be made in addition to the fee waiver. Travel reimbursement, if awarded, will be presented in the form of a check from the RNA Society either during or after the close of the conference.<\/p>\n<p>Please note:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If funds are limited then only one fellowship per research group is likely to be granted.<\/li>\n<li>Fellowships are restricted to RNA Society members. Click <a href=\"http:\/\/rnasociety.org\/conferences\/become-a-member\/\"><strong>here<\/strong><\/a> to become a member or to renew your membership.<\/li>\n<li>Abstracts submitted with this travel fellowship application will <strong>NOT<\/strong> be entered into the conference registration system. You will need to make a separate conference registration, followed by a separate abstract submission once you have registered for the conference.<\/li>\n<li>If you plan to apply for the RNA Society Scaringe Award you can do that in addition to applying for this fellowship. You will only be able to receive one, but we can easily remove your name from consideration for this fellowship if you receive the other award.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The application deadline for travel fellowships is <strong>February 19<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/strong> The conference organizers will review your request, and decisions will be communicated by email no later than<strong> February 24<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/strong> Registration and abstracts must then be submitted by<strong> February 27<sup>th<\/sup><\/strong> to be considered for an oral presentation, or by<strong> March 27<sup>th<\/sup> <\/strong>to meet the poster-only early registration deadline.<\/p>\n<p>Questions can be addressed to <a href=\"mailto:&#x74;&#x72;&#x61;&#x76;&#x65;&#x6c;&#x40;&#x72;&#x6e;&#x61;&#x73;&#x6f;&#x63;&#x69;&#x65;&#x74;&#x79;&#x2e;&#x6f;&#x72;&#x67;\"><strong>&#x74;&#x72;&#x61;&#x76;&#x65;&#x6c;&#x40;<span class=\"oe_displaynone\">null<\/span>&#x72;&#x6e;&#x61;&#x73;&#x6f;&#x63;&#x69;&#x65;&#x74;&#x79;&#x2e;&#x6f;&#x72;&#x67;<\/strong><\/a>.
