We are currently looking for a community-minded and reliable Laboratory Manager to join the laboratory of Dr. Roy Parker at the University of Colorado Boulder (CU) in Boulder, Colorado. The Parker laboratory focuses on understanding how cells regulate the translation, localization and degradation of RNAs. Their goal is to understand the molecular mechanisms that control RNA stability, RNP granule formation and how those pathways can be manipulated to treat human disease. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
·         Manage independent project and perform research experiments in support of the Parker lab’s scientific goals.
·         Utilize molecular biology, cell biology, and biochemistry techniques to achieve desired results.
·         Manage day-to-day activities within the research laboratory, including such activities as ensuring operation of essential equipment.
·         Act as liaison between the lab, HHMI, and host institution administrative offices on issues such as budget management, fixed asset inventories, use of host accounts, and so forth.
·         Act as liaison between the lab and host institution safety/regulatory offices to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.
·         Partner with the administrative assistant to ensure the lab has all necessary materials, equipment, and tools to perform experiments.
·         Develop laboratory guidelines and maintain procedural manuals.
·         Train incoming lab team members on proper lab conduct, technical areas, and complex processes as needed. 
·         Perform research projects and contribute to research papers as needed.
A bachelor’s degree in biological, biochemical, or biophysical sciences is required.
Advanced degree would be a plus.
A minimum of 3+ years of lab experience including at least one year of supervisory experience is required.
Demonstrated experience in cell biology is required.
Experience with tissue culture is required.
Experience with recombinant DNA technology (cloning, DNA sequencing, etc.) is required.
Experience with protein purification is required.
Experience with other molecular biology and/or biochemistry techniques is desired.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong operational knowledge of advanced lab equipment, including centrifuges, microscopes, and plate readers.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy in work.
Ability to supervise and train others as needed.
Ability to work collaboratively with others as part of a team.
Ability to be flexible and adapt to shifting priorities. 

The Parker lab is flexible to hire either a Laboratory Manager I or a Laboratory Manager II. The starting salary for this position will be based on the chosen candidate's experience level and qualifications.

Lab Manager I – $59,700 (minimum) - $74,669 (midpoint) - $89,600 (maximum)
Lab Manager II – $71,200 (minimum) - $88,990 (midpoint) - $106,800 (maximum)
