Successful 2017/2018 RNA Salon Applications

Since 2016, the RNA Society has fostered interaction among RNA researchers by providing financial support for reoccurring local/regional RNA science-based activities worldwide – termed RNA Salons. The purpose of this programming is to promote engagement and interaction among RNA researchers, with a particular focus on enhancing the training of junior scientists.

After supporting 29 RNA Salons in our inaugural 2016/17 year, the RNA Society is pleased to have further expanded the scope of this program based on the enthusiastic feedback and participation from RNA Society members. For 2017/2018, although more applications were received than funds were available, the RNA Society was able to support the activities of 37 RNA Salons around the world (almost a 30% increase in Salon groups, events and activities!).

For 2017/2018, RNA Salons offer a wide variety of innovative and engaging activities for more than 4,000 RNA researchers. A complete list of all supported RNA Salons, their locations, and the organizers that bring together these RNA researchers can be found below. Feel free to reach out if your geographical location allows you to participate in one or more of these initiatives.

New this year, we will highlight the individual RNA Salons and their activities by periodically featuring RNA Salons on this website!

The RNA Society congratulates all of the RNA Salon organizers on their commitment to RNA research and the training and professional development of junior RNA researchers. Their efforts provide invaluable contributions to our community of RNA researchers!

We wish you all the best for your ongoing events for the 2017/2018 academic year. The next round of RNA Salon applications for 2018/19 will be accepted in summer 2018 –keep a look out for applications and your opportunity to lead an RNA Salon in your part of the world.
