Successful 2016/2017 RNA Salon Applications

The RNA Society launched a new initiative this fall to provide financial support for reoccurring local/regional RNA science-based activities – termed RNA Salons. The purpose of this new programming was to promote engagement and interaction among RNA researchers, with a particular focus on enhancing the training of junior scientists.

The RNA Salon concept was met with enthusiastic support by RNA Society members; we received more applications for sponsorship than we had funds available. Moreover, we were pleased to receive applications describing a diverse range of innovative and engaging activities from institutions around the world.

After a review process by the RNA Salon Selection Committee, the following RNA Salon applications were chosen for support for the 2016/2017 academic year. Please congratulate your colleagues for their efforts to promote RNA research and feel free to reach out if your geographical location allows you to participate in one or more of these initiatives!

Congratulations once again to all successful applicants and all the best with your upcoming activities.

We look forward to working with all of you in the upcoming year and encourage everyone to consider applying for RNA Salon support in the fall of 2017!

Regards,
Ute Kothe and Kristian Baker
